This article presents results of evaluation research of one year-long programme for 8-11 years old pupils provided by the Ecocenter Podhoubi. Evaluation applied a mixed-design based on experimental/control pre-test/post-test comparison, analysis of focus groups and non-structured observation. According to the research, the programme well develops selected pupils’ action competencies and in the same time increases belief in their self-efficacy in dealing with them. Pupils interpret the program as both enjoying and meaningful and give examples of its impact on their own knowledge, attitudes and behaviour.

The article presents an evaluation of a programme of the environmental education centre Jizerka on pupils’ knowledge of a problem of forests’ degradation in Jizera mountains and on selected investigation skills. The research was based on a simple evaluation pretest/posttest design on a sample of 64 pupils 12-14 years old. According to the results, the programme positively influences all of the measured cognitive variables, although its impact on critical texts’ analysis was only weak. In discussion, means for further programme modifications are suggested.

This article presents an evaluation of a program provided by The Center for Environmental Education Jizerka. The first part describes the program’s goals and results of a precedent evaluation. In that, the program appeared to influence pupils’ knowledge of Jizera mountains and awareness of selected ecological concepts. Because the research suggested that pupils failed in formulating their own opinion on a topic, following research investigating the impact on forming proenvironmental attitudes was realized in 2011. The research was based on quasi-experimental pre/posttest design on the sample of 53 pupils. A standardized questionnaire TEQ used for evaluation of Earth education programs was applied. The research did not prove an impact of the program on any of investigated attitudes. In the last part, possible explanations and suggestions for program modifications are discussed.

This article brings the results of the research analysing an implementation of the Inquiry based science education into environmental education of the pupils at basic school. The results of the case study using the topic “The tree: The function in the landscape and the significance for the people” are shown. An educational programme for interactive whiteboard was composed according to IBSE rules and applied in the education of the 7 th class of the basic school. Following didactic test proved the positive influence of IBSE on the level of the environmental knowledge of the tested pupils. IBSE using interactive whiteboard was accept very positively by basic school pupils and increased their interest on the topic of the education during the lesson. The article further brings a short characteristic of the IBSE and discusses its contribution for environmental education as well as further possibilities for the use of IBSE in this area of education.
