Although, in many people’s minds, the term “Slovak landscape” continues to mean the Tatra National Park and its surroundings, in reality Slovakia’s landscape is scarred with construction sites, ski slopes, hypermarkets and petrol stations. Unlike the Czech Republic, Slovakia has not declared preservation of the landscape character as its strategic objective.
