Measurement of the effectiveness of use of urban land

The article is concerned with pragmatic techniques for assessment of the effectiveness of urban land use that are directly usable in practice – for regions, towns and municipalities. These techniques could promote efficient use of land and creating structures for sustainable management of the region. According to the research done by the World bank could sustainable and more efficient forms of land use save up to 15 % energy costs and also externalities are reduced (e.g. for technical infrastructure). This also (due to the fact that these costs are not included in production costs or services) also leads to raising competitiveness of the area. Therefore the sustainable management of the area should be our top public interest. Unfortunately this is not the case and effectiveness of the urban land use is not in the centre of the political or public interest.References
