Abstract

Responsible consumption is included in one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 12), and this goal also plays an important role in the education: to meet it, UNESCO defined a set of educational goals for different levels of education – “key competencies” for SDG12. As apparent from their analysis, these educational goals are more or less evenly distributed between the cognitive, emotional / social and behavioural domains of learning, which is a characteristics of education for sustainability in general. Learning based on these goals can bring not only the necessary knowledge, but also change the established patterns of thinking and behaviour, which is crucial for changing consumer habits and lifestyle in general. The article not only demonstrates how to set educational goals of this type (so that they affect all components of personality and are part of transformative learning), it also shows how they can look specifically in a showcased program for different types of schools. The aim of the program is to develop an awareness of the children / pupils / students concerning their active role within the economy, and that they can they can through their everyday consumer decisions shape the economic system.
